Stansted is Britain's third busiest airport and one of the fastest growing airports in Europe.  Located 64km (40 miles) to the north-east of London, it is home to many of the UK's low-cost airlines, serving mostly European and Mediterranean destinations.

Stansted Express to London Liverpool Street - around 45 minutes

Stansted Express is the quickest way into Central London (Liverpool Street station).  Trains leave Stansted Airport generally every 15 minutes between 06:00 to 23:59 (05:30 to 00:30, Friday to Monday).  Standard fares are £20 single and £27.70 for return (online prices).

easyBus offers a high frequency, low-cost express bus service between Stansted and Central London.  The service operates day and night, non-stop to London (Baker Street).  Prices start at £2 (online price) one way.  Book online and early for the best prices.

National Express to London Victoria Coach Station - around 1 hour 45 minutes

National Express operates a 24 hours service to Victoria Coach Station that stops at Golders Green, Finchley Road Underground station, St John's Wood, Marylebone, Baker Street, Marble Arch and Hyde Park Corner.  Journey time is one hour and 40 minutes.  This service runs at intervals of up to an hour.  Standard tickets cost £10 single/£17 return.

The official Stansted taxi concession is Checker Cars.  Black cabs do not operate from Stansted although you can catch one to the airport.  The cost of all taxis is metered and displayed inside the cab.  Extra charges, such as evening and weekend journeys are also shown here.  Only use Checker Cars, a black taxi or reputable minicab and never use unauthorised drivers who offer their services at airports or stations.  Ask the driver or minicab company how much your journey will cost beforehand.
